Details: Nesbit, president of LMNT Consulting, will succeed current ANS Vice President/President-Elect Mary Lou Dunzik-Gougar, an ANS member since 1994 and an associate dean in the College of Science and Engineering at Idaho State University. She will succeed current President Marilyn C. Kray, an ANS member since 2007 and vice president of nuclear technology and strategy for Exelon Generation. Kray will remain on the Board for a one-year term in her role as immediate past president.
Nesbit is currently serving a three-year term on the Board that ends in 2021.
The Board: The six new members of the Board are: Steven A. Arndt, ANS Fellow and member since 1981, senior technical advisor at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission; Lori A. Braase, ANS member since 2016, program manager at Idaho National Laboratory; Anna S. Erickson, ANS member since 2005, associate professor at Georgia Institute of Technology; Richard H. Lagdon, ANS member since 1983, chief engineer of nuclear operations and safety at Bechtel National; and non-U.S. at-large member Luc G. G. Van Den Durpel, ANS member since 2004, managing director of Nuclear-21 in Belgium; and Harsh S. Desai, ANS member since 2011, who was named to fill the director position left vacant by Nesbit's election as VP/president-elect.

The new Board members will succeed six outgoing members: Immediate Past-President John E. Kelly, Lisa M. Marshall, Leah Spradley Parks, Patricia D. Paviet, W. David Pointer, and Fiona E. Rayment. They will join incumbent directors Charles W. Forsberg, Margaret E. Harding, Marilyn C. Kray, Miriam A. Kreher, Peter B. Lyons, Corey K. McDaniel, Thomas A. Remick, Rebecca L. Steinman, Paul P. H. Wilson, and Akio Yamamoto, who will fulfill continuing terms.
The numbers: The 2020 election results were certified by the election services company Survey and Ballot Systems on April 7, following the completion and return of 28.78 percent of the 7,268 ballots sent to ANS members eligible to vote in the election.
