COP27, the 2022 United Nations climate change conference, is under way this week in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. A delegation from the American Nuclear Society has traveled there to participate in Nuclear for Climate’s #NetZeroNeedsNuclear advocacy campaign. Nuclear for Climate, cofounded by ANS, is a grassroots organization made up of nuclear professionals and scientists from over 150 associations worldwide.

Among the delegation is ANS President Steven Arndt, who will will be part of a panel discussion, “LIVE from COP,” hosted by Nuclear for Climate on November 8 at 9:00 a.m. EST at the conference’s Nuclear for Climate booth. Live streaming is also available at bit.ly/3t7Ffqi.
The panelists, all leading representatives of nuclear organizations, will discuss their perspectives on the following questions:
What role will nuclear play at COP27?
What do the nuclear NGOs expect of COP27?
What are their first impressions of COP27?
The event will be moderated by Emilia Janisz of the European Nuclear Society, and will feature Jessica Johnson of NuclearEurope, Jadwiga Najder of European Nuclear Society Young Generation Network, and Valérie Faudon of the French Nuclear Energy Society.
