North Carolina State University is hosting the inaugural Future Leaders in Nuclear: Undergraduate Symposium in early October at its campus in Raleigh. The event for rising juniors and seniors in nuclear engineering or related science and engineering fields will give attendees the opportunity to present their research.

Apply now: Interested undergraduates are invited to submit their applications online for this all-expense-paid symposium by Sunday, September 8. Each application must include the student's unofficial school transcript, a summary of their research (including abstract, major accomplishments, and publications), and their curriculum vitae.

All students with research topics in STEM fields will be considered.

What it’s about: The symposium is designed “to recognize the top undergraduate researchers in science and engineering fields related to nuclear.” It will include oral and poster research presentations, tours of the NC State nuclear engineering laboratories and the PULSTAR research reactor, information sessions about fellowship opportunities and graduate life at the university, and an introduction to the Raleigh area.

All selected students will receive an award recognizing their participation.

Additional information about the symposium can be obtained by emailing assistant professors Alex Bataller or Ben Beeler.
